POCO has officially confirmed that the POCO X8 Pro and the POCO X8 Pro Max 5G will launch globally and in India on March 17, 2026. The online launch event will begin at 5:30 PM IST. Both phones will be available for purchase in India shortly after the event, most likely through Flipkart and POCO's official website.

POCO X8 Pro 5G Specifications and Features

Display

The POCO X8 Pro is probably comes with 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The 1.5K resolution is sharper than a standard Full HD panel and the AMOLED panel delivers accurate colours and deep blacks. The display supports HDR10+ for better contrast when watching supported video content.

Processor

As per leak reports the X8 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset built on a 4nm manufacturing process. This is a mid-to-high-end processor that handles gaming, multitasking, and demanding apps without slowdown. It is a step up from the Dimensity 8400 Ultra found in the POCO X7 Pro that launched in India in January 2025 at ₹26,999.

Early benchmark results suggest the Dimensity 8500 Ultra delivers roughly 20 to 30 percent better performance than the Dimensity 9300 in graphics and AI-heavy tasks.

RAM and Storage

The POCO X8 Pro will be available in two configurations 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage Both configurations run Android 16 with HyperOS 3.

Camera

The rear camera on the X8 Pro is a dual setup consisting of a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. The Sony IMX882 is a reliable sensor that performs well in low-light conditions. OIS — Optical Image Stabilisation — helps reduce blur when shooting handheld or while moving.

The front camera is a 20MP sensor for selfies and video calls. Video recording goes up to 4K at 30fps on the rear camera.

Battery and Charging

Report suggest that the X8 Pro comes with a 7,560mAh battery and supports 100W wired fast charging. With 100W charging, the phone can go from empty to full in under 45 minutes. There is no wireless charging on this model.

Other Features

The POCO X8 Pro gets an in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, an IR blaster, NFC, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4. The phone carries an IP69K rating for protection against high-pressure water jets, which is a step above the standard IP68 found on most phones in this price range.

Display

The POCO X8 Pro Max has a larger 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display uses a high-quality OLED panel with accurate colours, deep blacks, and strong outdoor visibility. The larger 6.83-inch size makes it more comfortable for gaming, watching videos, and reading compared to the standard X8 Pro.

Processor

The X8 Pro Max is likely powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset built on a 3nm process. This is a flagship-level processor  the same class of chip found in premium phones that cost significantly more. The prime core runs at 3.73 GHz and the GPU is the Immortalis-G925 MC12.

On Geekbench 6.4, the Dimensity 9500s scores a single-core score of 2,659 and a multi-core score of 8,386 — confirmed from a Geekbench listing with 12GB RAM and Android 16. This puts the X8 Pro Max ahead of many processors found in phones priced at ₹70,000 and above.

RAM and Storage

The POCO X8 Pro Max will be available in two configurations:12GB LPDDR5x RAM + 256GB UFS 4.1 storage and 12GB LPDDR5x RAM + 512GB UFS 4.1 storage

UFS 4.1 is the latest generation of flash storage, offering faster read and write speeds than the UFS 3.1 found on the standard X8 Pro. Both configurations run Android 16 with HyperOS 3.

Camera

The rear camera on the X8 Pro Max is a dual setup with a 50MP primary sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. The front camera is a 20MP sensor — the same as the standard X8 Pro. Video recording goes up to 4K at 30fps on the rear camera.

Battery and Charging

The X8 Pro Max comes with an 9000mAh battery and supports 100W wired fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging. The 27W reverse charging means you can use the phone to charge other devices like earbuds or a smartwatch directly from its battery.

With 100W fast charging, the 9,000mAh battery is expected to go from empty to full in approximately 55 to 60 minutes. For heavy users, the 9,000mAh capacity is expected to deliver two full days of use on a single charge, and possibly three days with moderate use.
